Well folks, looks as though I'll be going on yet another mystical journey! This time I only plan to be away for two weeks which is the exact length of time I managed to make it in Maldives, funny enough. An old friend has purchased a 45" sailboat to sail around the world. He's selling off portions of his trip to help with the cost of the boat and I happen to be 'funemployed' at just the right moment in time to be invited to learn to sail on their first ever mission!! How epic, the peanut gallery in the back of my head 'ouus' and 'ahhs' as if watching fireworks at the thought of it. We'll be going to Portsmouth, New Hampshire by car to pick her up then sailing home! I just received ... read more

So it's almost been a year since my last post and my have things changed. I'm now a certified ESL teacher, I just accepted a job offer to work in Maldives for a year. Today is Thursday, I got the email with the initial job posting on Tuesday, contract on Wednesday, shots today.. fly out on Sunday! It's hard to keep the language clean when talking about the insanity that has become this week! This adventure will be tame... After realizing the impact that my crazy behaviour has on family and friends *cough cough* Laos, I've decided to attempt to keep things on the safer side of life. I bought my first official 'teacher sweater', very scholastically inclined. At this point I'm still awaiting my final contract to show airport authorities juuuust in case. All for ... read more

11 more days to go! Our backpacks are packed, we've said some of our goodbyes, still a few last minute details to iron out - but we're almost there. After years of planning, it almost seems surreal - I don't think it will set in that we're really going, we're really doing this until we are half-way across the country. Initially, our plan was to go to Australia and travel around for a year on a Working Holiday Visa. Once we started looking into this, we heard more and more about how interesting New Zealand is, and decided we wanted to go there as well. At first, we thought we could go for only a few weeks, but there seems to be so much to do that we wanted a lot of time to explore and ... read more

I figured i should test this out before i go. I'm all packed and far far too excited. One week until I'm free and off to wonderful things. Not much to say until I'm out of this boring old city, which I'm sure once i return, won't seem all that lame anymore. Coming home from India made me realize how clean and wonderful Canada is and how great it smells. ... read more
