Hi All
Hope You all got the first exciting (no Pics) blog!! not sure anyone did so hopefully i'll have more luck this time. Anywho, i have been travelling around Nova Scotia, which is a bit like Scottland, in that it rains a lot, people are very laid back and very friendly and they have funny accents! Richard and I spent serveral days touring with the Salty Bear tour group. They consisted of Sally and Holly, Win and Corry 4 very fun Ozzies, Heather Bell!, Sara and Jennett. All girls so Rich felt a little left out, especially when it came to bag carrying and door holding!! Places visited that i can remember were the Cabolt trail, Baddeck, Antigonish, Plesent bay.
On the Caboly trail we saw a moose with its baby, but as 10 people all rush to get a pic all we got was the backside of the baby running away, not the best way to approach a baby moose!
In Baddeck we went kayaking and search for treasure on a beach that had a ship wreck year ago but they are still finding stuff like coins and bits off the ship. They also had blue kingfishers, but again too quick for pics.
In Antigonish they had highland games and lots of men in kilts, Myra would have been impressed with all the baggpipe playing.
In Plesent bay we went whale watching and i got to see some 30 amazing whales, mostly pilot whale that the researcher on the boat were tracking, we also saw seals and sholes of tuna fish which have spiky fins. I could not believe how close the whale swam to the boat sometime darting underneath and jumping from the water, it was a real show they also had a baby with them and we all got some great pics.
After crossing from Pictou to Prince Edward Island we headed to Charlottown. This was where the confederation of Canada took place and is now a historic site. We stayed the night in the uni and had a fun night out with the Ozzies. Next day we went to Ann of Green Gables house and village, which was weird as i've not yet read the book or really know what its about apart from she had red hair and pigtails!! Anyway we had a great bike ride alone the coast line before setting off to see and cross condeferation bridge. We are now back in Halifax for the night before the next tour stars tomorrow. Hopefully i'll work out how to put pic on by then so it all makes more sense. Love to all especially Gran, take care and get better soon.
