Well, we are on our way back home. Today was an uneventful day. After a relaxing morning, we left Linwood Campground around 10:00, and arrived at Loch Lomond RV Park in Amherst, Nova Scotia around 1:00. We had stayed here at the beginning of our journey around Nova Scotia and enjoyed it so much we decided to come back. Not much to say about today, no highlights or pictures to share with you. After a long day on the road yesterday driving the Cabot Trail, it felt good to spend the afternoon going for a short walk and relaxing in the sun. Our plans now are to spend tomorrow night near the US border, the following night near Bangor, Maine, and then home. So folks, not sure how much more will be posted. We hope you ... read more

Day 2 was another long ride, but here we are in Nova Scotia. We did not get a super early start, about 10:00 after having the propane tank filled, but the roads were not busy so the drive was pleasant. Crossing the border was uneventful. The customs agent was a very friendly young women. She asked all of the customary questions, including how much alcohol we had on board. Luckily, we knew ahead of time we could only have two bottles each, so we were good. No questions on Meat , poultry, veggies etc, like some of our other border crossings. Ray had pulled in his big side mirror before pulling up to the window and she asked if he always drove with it in this position. He said yes, I like to look at myself ... read more

Well, here we are after spending 2 nights at Amherst shore Provincial Park. Most of the gear is packed and we're just waiting for the sun to dry the tent so we can pack up and move on. Vicki is reading a book, drinking a tea and relaxing. It's been a great couple of days here with perfect weather.(for September). Yesterday we explored the shoreline at high tide, then did a couple of geocaches, had lunch and returned for low tide. The park has a trail system that includes a path that goes through a tunnel to cross under the road. The beach was littered with snails, small crabs and clams. Small fish were flitting about, feeding in the small pools of warm water created by the receding tide. The sun was warm so I had ... read more

"Everything I do I do it for you" With Bryan Adams starting us off on our journey, we headed out from St. John to Hopewell ROcks, one of the most common places from which to view the famous tides of the Bay of Fundy. Since childhood, I have wanted to see this natural phenomenon, so my bucket list just got a little smaller. THe Bay of Fundy is a long, narrow bay situated between Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. The tides here are traditionally considered the highest in the world, with the highest die ever recorded being 70.1 feet during a gale which occurred during a spring tide. More commonly, the tides average about 45 feet vertical range at the Minas Basin in the extreme northeast of the bay. Twice a day, tidal forces move over ... read more

Hi All, This blog finds us in Charlottetown. The first picture shows us following our guide, Rob. He kept demanding to be paid for all the little extras. We gave him a good tip, don't quit your day job. We encountered Sir John A MacDonald on a park bench and stopped to see how conferderation was coming along. Bill picked his brain about how to solve our current politial problems. We even walked by the original building where confederation began. After learning all we could it was time for some lighter fare. Our chauffeur whisked us to Summerside where we took in a delightful and original dinner theatre. We all had to introduce ourselves to the actor waiters, and Bill used the alias Ruddiger. We enjoyed two buckets of mussels just for the appetizer. The next ... read more
