Nigel and BoscoThe cat came out! Didn't stay out long, but long enough to get a picture!
Another beautiful day! High in the late 20's! Finally it feels like summer on my trip!
We all had a lazy morning, drinking coffee, working on pictures (see Nigel's flickr site for more northern lights:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/nigelfearon/ and click on Julie in Yellowknife). Waiting to hear from Nigel's friend to go rock climbing. Unfortunately, we never heard during the day from Nigel's friend (he was out on the lake fishing on this beautiful day!). We played cards, did grocery shopping and had homemade pizza for supper, ymmmm! After supper Nigel, Otis and I went for a walk up Tin Can Hill (an abandoned gold mine).
Nigel, Dave (a friend of Nigel and a photographer) and I went out chasing the Northern Lights for my last time! We went out to Vee Lake. The lights were quiet, but still very beautiful! Just under the lights, lightening was happening! Dave had us doing all sorts of fun stuff to get some neat photographs! (strobe lights, jumping up and down, waving!). A great night!
You think living up north, you would see a lot of wild animals along the side of the road...well, here you don't. Last night we saw 3 red
foxes, and Nigel saw what he thinks was a wolverine! Nigel said that is the most wild animals he has ever seen up here! Sweet!
Well, have to get to sleep...Tomorrow is a driving day! It has been a very sweet, wonderful time in Yellowknife! I will miss Nigel and Mel, the chasing of the lights, the rocks, the stars, the quietness of the north. Thank you for an awesome time!!!!!
