So in less than 48 hours I'll be on the very first plane ride of this trip. I just want to thank everyone who came out last night, it was amazing to see so many people there just for me. I had a great time - despite some goodbye crying - and I hope you all did as well.
I'm just about to finish packing. Planning what to take when you're not going for a weekend or a week but rather 5 or 6 months takes a lot of time and effort. Everything has to be multipurpose and nothing can be fussy or take up too much room. Therefore it saddens me that I most likely have to leave behind my Colbert Report sweater. But I'm still taking my Property of Colbert Nation t-shirt so I guess I shouldn't complain.
Hopefully everyone has my email, if not then facebook me or ask someone who knows me. I'd love to hear what's going on back in the Peg when I'm an incredible 15,000 kms away, so feel free to just send a quick email or a letter anytime you want. Right now I'm homeless in Australia because due to some "unforseen circumstance" that leaves my residence with less rooms than they'd already promised, I don't have a for sure place to stay there. But, I'm sure all of that will be sorted out and I won't have to live in a refrigerator box or the pouch of a kangaroo, both suggestions I heard last night. Once I know my address I'll post it on Facebook in a note, if you don't have Facebook I'll email it to you cause snail mail would be greatly appreciated.
What I really wish is that I could take all of you with me! But as everyone kept saying to me last night, I'll make friends and meet interesting people, have an adventure and do amazing things I never, ever though I'd get to do. So thankyou again for coming to say goodbye and show your love and support. My next blog will be from the South Pacific, so keep reading and keep in touch!!
Love
Ayla
