I guess this can be considered our first entry, although it is not very interesting. We are currently in the thick of waiting and waiting for the consulate in Toronto to process my visa. They are beyond ridiculous to deal with and, to be honest if we were not so invested in the process (ie: sold everything and have no jobs!), I would be tempted to give up.
That being said, we are full of mixed emotions these days, as we are in the last couple weeks stretch before we leave, and it is a very bittersweet experience. On one hand, we are beyond excited to move to Asia, as well as to travel, and meet new people. We are also excited to see old friends is Korea, that are already there. We, especially me, are also sad to leave family and friends behind. It is not something an only child (sort of) deals with well. I am trying to deal with it as best I can, but once work is over this week, I think reality will set in.
With regard to reality, we still have to sell a few items, namely our car, and are in the process of canceling everything. What a pain. We will be gone my month end, though, so we have to keep on it, or it typical procrastinator style, we will be scrambling at the end. Thank god my mom was here for 5 days to kick our asses. It made us realize how much we have left to do, and by the end of this week, we should be in good shape. Then it is just waiting and more waiting.
We will keep you posted on our situation, and are looking forward to sharing everything with our peeps back home. Writing is an outlet for both of us, so I can see this blog being very long and wordy. That being said, if you know us, you will appreciate the connection and the reading!
Tata for now!
