Well, we made it, so this is the end of the blog
We had the opportunity to browse some of the other bloggers on this site, backpacking through thailand, or around the world, or working for extended periods of time far from home. It makes our tiny adventure seem a little over rated.....but we had a lot of fun. We experienced the ride, completed it within budget (we think), and (speaking for myself) would go on a trip with any of the boys again at any time.....(should note a disclaimer regarding the level of flatulance experienced on this particular trip).
Monday has us up and eating breakfast of bacon and eggs and driving the last 4 hours to the canadian border. The drive was uneventful, and unexpectedly interesting, and the border crossing was without incident aside from having to dispose of our fresh fruits and vegetables into a cooler (so the border guards can take them home to trade for chips, pop and candy).
We stopped and had lunch in another parking lot in Penticton, then when we hit kelowna did a spit shine and hand polish of our rented abode and unloaded our belongings. We bid farewell to car b (or was it car a) and car a (or b)had to stay behind to return the unit on tuesday. A ride had been planned but the weather turned foul and car a (definitely a) could not muster the ambition to head out in the rain, so we sat in the motorhome and reviewed pictures and told more fabrications of how we view life.
We actually had a turkey dinner too. We headed to his favourite pub, which turned out was my favourite as well (the stipulation to become my favourite revolves loosely around the fact that it is a pub). They had three turkey dinners left, and we assured them we couldn't possibly eat more than two of them....and then we feasted. It was wonderful, and somewhat like home because after we layed on the sofas, watched biking movies and fell asleep without uttering another word. Ohhhh the power of turkey.
Now we are home, and I assume we are all working. My wife flew away to vancouver for a conference hours after I got home, so I am organizing a couple of kids and putting in a work day and cooking supper and helping with homework and reading stories and wondering what everyone else is doing because I'm missing the Wednesday ngiht ride, and dreaming of the next bike vacation......and loving life.....how could you not?
To the ride!
