It's 3:00 here at the office... that's 2 hours plus 2 days before this Friday's Cake 'n Beer... but who's counting. In case no one around here's noticed (:o), I've been slacking like a sumnabitch this past week or two, I'm bored of playing Zuma, and yes, I'm now even making a Blog entry.
I think that right now it's safe to say, I'm more excited about not being to work, than I am about being away. This of course is no reflection on the people I work with; they're all great people, and have really enjoyed the past 2 projects working with them (probably more accurately, drinking beer, and playing foosball with them). But what can I say... 6 projects in 6 years. I need a break from it all.
We're good to go. We're packed to move, we're packed to leave the continent. We move out this Saturday morning, we go out to Langley to party Saturday night, we wake up this Sunday morning with no home to go to. This has been 2 years coming, and it's wonderful that it's finally here.
The comments people make about our trip are intriguing. Quite frankly, they make me feel inspired by my own actions, and it's often sad to hear someone say they "would love to do something like this, if it weren't for
". My only hope is whatever their reason is, it's not really what holds them back because we've done it, and there are very few reasons why they can't do it too. Of course I realize that travelling around Africa isn't for everyone, but I can only hope that for those that do have it in them, we've offered them a little inspiration by what we're about to do.
