Today I had the rest of my classes..
It began with Intermediate Financial Accounting 2. One word - AWFUL! We were given name cards to put in front of us. This meant that the lecturer could ask us a question at any point in the lecture. He started by telling us that the paper was probably the most difficult accounting paper at UBC. He then went on to talk about the paper prior to this one (Intermediate Financial Accounting 1). As I had no idea what was in that paper I felt like a complete idiot when he asked me questions. In total I was asked 3 questions to which I answered "Im not sure".. yes I felt like a right dick!!
After the class I was stressed. I told the lecturer that I was an exchange student and that I had not done the prior paper. He basically said to me that this was a tough paper and if I was looking to have an easy time on exchange I should not take this paper. Gutted!! As this was 1 of the papers that Auckland Accounting department said I had to do!!
My next class was Financial
Statement Analsis. This seemed a little better except that there is an assignment due every week and two group assignments (I HATE group assignments!!).
My next class was Introduction to Asian Legal Systems. The paper seemed a much too blah blah for my liking and so I have now dropped this class and will be taking Secured Transactions instead.
After my last class I headed back to PRS (that is Pie R Squared) to do my second of 2 shifts for the week (from 6.30pm until 1.30am).
Wednesday nights are supposed to be the best nights down at the uni pub - the Pitt - and as this was the first wednesday back at uni the pub was totally packed. As PRS is in the same building as the Pitt we were really busy. I actually really liked this shift as we would have moments of absolute craziness as we were so busy and then it would die out and we would be quiet for about 10 mins. The boss finished at around 9pm and so we all bummed around. It was a really fun shift. What made it even better is that the fire alarm went off at about 12pm and so I got paid to sit and wait for 30 mins. When we were finally allowed back in we didnt reopen and so I got to take to pizzas home for the flatmates.
