Hey All
Well have made it as far as the airport! Was a dream run in the cab on the way to the airport and then both Nat and I had sailed through the checking in process even though the customer service leaves a lot to be desired and I'm sure that the odd smile probably wouldn't hurt some of these people either!! it was all just seeming too good to be true and then it was...
They delayed my flight by 1hr 35 min without even telling me, Nat and I were sitting down discussing boarding times when we noticed my boarding time was an hour or so after I was supposed to already left!!! So went back and checked with the counter and they said that it may continue to be delayed further at this stage... they aren't sure what is going to happen with it and they can't tell me what is causing the delay, that will now leave me with just under 2 hours to catch my connecting flight through to Egypt... so hoping that as I've checked my bags right through that it will speed up the process and it wont be a drama... here's to hoping anyways.
Nat and I had to leave from different terminals, even though we were flying the same airline, the customs is different apparently as I am going through Europe and she's going through America, so we said our goodbyes then she had to take her bags through customs and can't come out. So it's then it was 6.15pm and my boarding wasn't until 8.55pm!!! arrrggghhh!!! Nat will be sitting in there with Nat and Julie from the last tour, so I've had to get some more Candian money out so that I can sit back and have a couple of drinks then I'm sure that I will feel right at home!!! hehe!!!
There were no tears for the goodbye, I thought that Nat was going to crack but I took off before it got any worse. I think it's not as bad as when we've said goodbye to some of the others, as we know that we will see each other when I get home. That's providing that she can remember who I am after 2.5 months longer!!! (Only joking Nat!!)
My bag weighed 25.6kg even with the heavy stuff in my backpack - don't know what the hell is in the damn case - it weighs more than it did before I came over here and I'm sure it has actually less in it!!! Spent the arvo at the post office sending all excess items and clothes that choose to no longer fit home!!!!
So back to being alone over here, although I'm still feeling ok about it, I've survived the past 2.5 months and I'm sure I can manage the remainder of these trips!!! also taking comfort in the fact that I'll be seeing some friends when i get to London, in particular my newly wed friends, Matt & Vicky.
