Looking towards North Shore
From Vancouver, I'm living and working over that side of the water. Went for a stroll along Canada Place yesterday.
Low and behold, the North Shore has me back for a while. Actually, I have been back here for two weeks already and its about time that another blog was written, for many reasons, so you can see what im doing and also its something I have found to rather enjoy, typing away on the computer and seeing what comes to find, it sure beats watching the television here which seems to be an occupation that for whatever reason has captured my previous week or so during spare time, hate that. Considering not watching TV for many months perhaps this is supposed to make up for it or something, um, no, its probably a brain escape slash laziness, mainly because my body has taken to a want of hibernation lately. So today, at 4 o'clock I have tracked down a yoga centre on the North Shore and Im going to get my arse in there for some exercise, at some stage soon another form of yoga called Bikram (Indian for hot) is going to get a try out, recommended to me 6 months ago and its about time the idea was taken up, its basically doing yoga in a sauna from
what I can gather, sounds interesting, hopefully I remain conscious.
Yes so the whole Smithers idea fizzed out when a dose of reality soaked in and I realised that a traveller with no money is a traveller that does not move with considerable pace, let alone get home when/if one needs to, it would have been fun to spend the winter boarding, although the work would have covered living/boarding which means no savings, North Shore it is then, with the generosity and assistance of Jay, Janet, Paul and Shaun the malting profusely pussy cat that eats like a horse who I'm boarding with until the end of April at a very friendly rate whilst working full time for a landscaper Peter who very conveniently lives 5 minutes walk around the corner, all with the aim of saving as much as possible to jet onwards for this journey early May. That was a huge sentence, my English teachers would be appalled at all the commers and lack of full stops. It must be said that it really bites in all honesty, would much rather be in a position to keep going but that’s the way it goes sometimes, roll with

it. So I'm doing my best to enjoy the three months here, its been a while since getting up early on weekdays was normal, the weekends again becoming a time of joyous beckoning and reprise, tame though, saving the good times (aka spending my labourious landscaping dollars) for when the voyage begins again.
Its pretty wet outside at the moment, contemplated walking down to the esplanade where this yoga class starts at 4 as the bus will run a little late so I'm going to be late, o well, good thing yoga is usually one class that is pretty relaxed about punctuality. Rain rain rain your heart out Vancouver (its Sunday), the more you rain today the less you rain on the weekdays (my logic is very questionable there) and we won't have to build cemented retaining walls in the wet, which is difficult. Yes a new line of employment and I must say a very temporary line as well, not my calling I assure myself as I lug boulders back and forward and load wheelbarrows. Thoughts of Thailand as the next destination make it all worth while, ahh, how good is that going to be, warmth. Warmth could

be a huge understatement actually. Can not wait to see Dad and Rotchana over there its going to be amazing to say the least, I miss my family and friends! Janet and Paul have just walked in the door from a weekend away curling (curling is Canada, well hockey is Canada but this is next) so perhaps I can arrange a lift down there actually. Jays parents curl a lot, im talking three or four nights a week, mad about it. Apparently we have a little curling going on down south in NZ, is taking the world by storm! Actually, it looks like a lot of fun, having thrown a couple of stones the other week when I headed down to watch them play it came to my attention that it is a considerable amount harder and skilful than it looks. So give it a go everyone, get down to your local curling rink and have a crack!
So for the next few months this will turn into not so much of a travel blog as a general blog, but really that is what this has been from the start really the only difference being that not many kilometres

are trailing behind each entry. Indeed as not a lot of highly interesting things are happening during the working weeks they may not be as frequent either, you never know though.
Valentines day in 3 sleeps for all us single ones, 2 if you are back home, hopefully you all receive a spontaneous mystery valentine to keep you guessing for a while, how exciting. And those spending it with the ones they already have adored for many a Feb 14, or if this is your first, make it sexual marathon for those out there that will be lucky if they get any sexual healing, make it good and make it loud.
Keep in touch with me everyone, I need you!
