Oh. My. God!
Had bit of a disasater involving being an hour early for my flight, soakin wet cos toronto cried when i left and really really tired (prob cos i got up so feckion early!grr!) to get gere, but i'd so go thru it an then some to be here... Vancouver officially rocks!
Final summary of Toronto: 1. lovely people, tho some a bit mental, specially the arty ones an the homeless ones that hang out in the parks, do not approach! 2. The CN tower is big, but yey for me, i stood on the glass floor an had a posh lunch in the turny turny restaurant. 3. When it rains, it really feckin raiins! Practically swam to the airport! 4. An without a doubt the most obvious of them all... The tiny dogs, I mean, what the?!
Anyhow, had a ball, but then the Big T became the Big V, and truly, i think I May have found new spiritual home! This city is so so amazing... Replace teeny weeny tiny dogs with joggin folks an yer getting there, but its so much more interesting than other places: it just has more personality and character I reackon. There's big buildings an the usual city stuff, but then ya get stanely park(the biggest city park ever - there's even a shuttle to get ya from one side to the other! that is so pretty and so easy to get to and from and so peaceful to be in, really just what i needed today), the mountains like all over the horizon and a wicked combination of good pubs, great music, an amazing selection of native canadian art and artefacts all over the place, a crackin hostel (free brekkie and well cool, and er rather hairy, staff...raar!) an truly, you so got a winner!
Met some lovely people here already, too! So not intimidated by the doin stuff on my own thing now, i've met 3 girls that i'm bunked in with here who are all doin the same an they're lovely! Spent the day with Gail(Irish chick living, 2 guesses... yep, in glasgow!) in stanley park and the afternoon with Gail and Amy (an irish chick who's travelling solo, too). Got a staff member in with us, too: Stacey from New Zealand, whjo's super cool, too. Oh dear, i should leave north america soon, starting to sound like a right preppie!
did a bus tour yesterday to get an idea of how it all fits together like... I really really like it here. Gonna arrange to come over form van island a week earlier than the flight so i can spend it here some more...
Only down sides are the loopy loop joggers on the waterfront who totally like run in the sunsihine, nutters! and er, the crazy mad mental hobo-typey homeless folks wi their trolleys and mental looks in their eyes, but ya can so get over that! We got chased by one with his trolley today, but he wasn't serious...think i made it slightly worse as i found the whole thing pretty much hilarious so i just kinda stoof an laughed at him which didn't go down well but he went away an then we got lost for a while in the sun, now that was hardcore! A rather interesting encounter with a dude from new zealand and er One or two, ahem!, too many libations last night meant Gail an I were rough as anyway, so now all 3 of us are totally an utterly shattered, know vancouver really well, can fight off hobo nutters with trolleys an bad manners and are really good at makin pancakes - free brekkie as long as ya make it yerself - so lovin the samesun hostel!
Off on the moosebus west tour 2moro, gonna be fab! Hope its as good as the east one a few years ago...Route looks amazing, an if the mountains here are anythin to go by it'll be stunning!Yey!
Oh, cannae do the paicture thing but Micha's gonna link the T pics to this page somehow, so try see them that way an i'll figue out how to upload the others i have gfrom here at some point soon.
Hope all's well with you all, bring on the snowboards!
