Hi all, sorry it has been so long since our last blog, for those who don't know we had to relocate from our crazy landlords house and now we are with Yanika and Phil and their baby Melodie a couple of blocks from where we were. It has been much more fun since being here because Yanika takes pride in showing us around to the sights. It has been the hottest month ever in BC, eerily like Melbourne last summer, there have been bushfires and all the records have been broken. We have been swimming a lot, Yanika took us to Bridal Falls, a nearby waterfall with icy water from the top of the mountains, to a lake up in the hills where we had a picnic and went canoeing and to a super cool big ... read more

Hello all, I decided this would be the easiest way to show and tell our trip, so get on board and you will be emailed when we write a new entry. We went to Chilliwack yesterday and got a card reader for the camera so now we can post pictures, we also got new sim cards but I haven't got around to activating mine yet so stay tuned. Today like almost every other day has been rainy and cool, but today it must have been that tiny bit colder because there was fresh snow on the tops of all the mountains, just the top halves - it looked like they had been dipped in dandruff... thats not very poetic, lets say talcum powder. (no picture of this - sorry) I did take some pictures on the ... read more

I've been listening to a new song by Canadian artist Michael Buble called "Home." It is an incredible song, however a section of the lyrics go: "Another winter day has come and gone away, in Paris and Rome but I want to go home" It's a song about homesickness, right before I leave!! Oh well, I still love it. I think I've set a new record. 2 more days and still no packing has been started by moi. d.c.... read more

Since I live near Vancouver, B.C., Canada I will be flying from YVR (Vancouver International Airport). I just went to their website to see stuff (mostly 'cause I was bored) when I stummbled upon a link to "Internet Access." It showed a picture of what is called an "Internet Payphone" Here's what the article had to say: TELUS Internet Payphones The airport has 22 "eMillennium" Internet access payphones at locations throughout the terminals, in addition to more than 400 voice payphones. The “eMillennium” offers high-speed Internet and e-mail connection, utilizing a small keyboard, mouse and 6.5-inch LCD screen. Access fees for "eMillennium" are 35 cents a minute, while access to Vancouver International Airport's website (www.yvr.ca) is free from the home page. Maybe while I'm at the airport I'll update this TravelBlog... P.S. Only 2 more weeks ... read more

17 more days and everyone is telling me I need to start packing my bags to ensure I don't forget anything. But I like to procrastinate and I keep putting it off. I've got some new travel books(Lonley Planet:)) and I've been loking them over. That's it for now. d.c. ... read more

I'm leaving in less then a month! My little brother started packing his suitcase...until he realized he'd need his toothbrush sometime within the next 27 days! I should probably start thinking somewhat about packing. While surfing the internet for travel tips I found a good printable packing checklist, very detailed. The link is below. There is also an activity checklist, the Frommers site is very good in general. d.c. http://www.frommers.com/tips/packing_tips/ http://www.frommers.com/... read more
