To Canada
To Canada Day 7 - Sept 6, 2012 - Victoria
Today was spent in the beautiful city of Victoria British Columbia Canada. We did the hop on- hop off bus through RCI. The bus makes the most popular stops to the most popular sights in Victoria.
The ship docks pretty close to town so it is a short walk to the Wharf area. If you would rather take a taxi to town there are plenty to choose from at the port. We spent a total of 6 hours out and about the city and it were not near enough time to do everything we wanted to do. We did one round of the bus loop before we actually got off and explored the town which took almost an hour. It was good to do because it enabled us to get an idea of what areas we wanted to explore more, plus we made notes of where the bus stops were. Our first area to explore was the Empress Hotel. This place is nice with lots of scenic garden areas. The Capital building is nearby along with lots of shops in the downtown area. We walked to China Town from here and

Wall at the dock - this wall was near where the ship docked in Victoria explored this area some. Then we got off at the Craigdarroch Castle. Since time was at a minimum we decided not to tour the castle and only took pictures of it from outside. We had 1/2 hour to do this before the bus would return. It's a short walk from the bus stop to the castle. Buses are not allowed to go up the road to the castle so you have to hike up to it. It's not too far but it is on an incline. The bus comes every 1/2 hour to each stop.
We ended our bus ride at the wharf and walked back to the ship from there. It was maybe a half mile. Not far at all.
The show tonight was piano man and it was quite good. This was a song and dance tribute to Billy Joel, Elton John, Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles and Barry Manilow. The costumes were gorgeous
