Once again, I am a day behind because of YouTube. Curse having free unlimited downloading capabilities.
Wed-nes-day was the same as it always is. Middle of the week. Shuddering at the fact that there are still two days to go. Luckily I had two classes that I really enjoy. And to make it better we were watching a movie in one so that was even better. The movie was a documentary (by an Australian) about Native people in Quebec who, every winter, go to their 'native' land (tracts of forest owned by their family) and live off the land. They did most everything in the traditional way (save for a chainsaw and a gun). It was quite intreuging to see how they went about things. We didn't get to finish it, but I will download it and watch the end I think.
Once home from class, I did absolutly nothing. I made stir fry for tea. Although I had forgotten to thaw out the chicken in the freezer. Damn. This would not usually be a problem, if I had a microwave. But I don't. So using all my skills I decided to whack the block of chicken in the sink and pour hot water over them until they thawed (even enough to seperate and cut up. This worked....to some degree. Half the chicken was boiled, the other a frozen block. Still, I threw caution to the wind and cooked with it. Thinking that if I did suffer a bout of food poisoning I would have noone to blame but myself....and the chicken.
I ate dinner (still feeling fine) and wasted time until Amy Facebooked me and said that Mother was home and I was to call. So I chatted to home for a good while. After that I decided it was time I fixed my banking access. You see, being the person I am, I immediatly forgot my log in details to my travel card the moment I set it up. Using the "I forgot my Password" option at the log in screen, did not help as I never received any email. So after 3 guesses, I was locked out. So I spent the better half of an hour on the phone to the ANZ with a very poor internet connection. Now I dont know if you've ever used Skype while suffering through a bad internet connection, but it's not good. Speech stops, it becomes blurry and mashed up. Now imagine this while the person from the bank is trying to relay a 16 digit number and a new password. Almost impossible. Almost. But we got there in the end. So I am now able to check my bank balance. Thankfully. And I'll tell you, even for 4 months its not cheap to get setup in a new country. Although I still have plenty of money for the USA its time to start saving.
Nacht,
Aaron
