Things have slowed down here since Vince and Kurtis left. They met up with their friends in Calgary and arrived safely in North Battleford early Friday Morning. we are still working out how to get them home on Monday but I am sure something will work out soon.
The ski hill remains very busy and it takes a bit of artful planning to get up to the areas where there are less people and more snow. We have never been here at this time and are unaccustomed to such crowds.
Also one of the runs was so icy that Kelvin reinjured his back. He has chose to rest it for the rest of Friday.
I don't quite ski at Troy's speed but he is learning about patience and control with me. I'm sure they will be useful lessons as well.
We decided to take Saturday off from skiing and avoid the crowds with a trek down to Invermere. It is a quaint little town full of little art and decorating shops. Lots of fun for me...not so much for my men. Fortunately the DVD player in the van finally kept Troy happy while I finished my tour.
Tomorrow I think we will tackle the crowds again... although we are hopeful for some snow to fill in a bit. New years eve is supposed to be quite lovely here so we will see how that celebration works out.
In the meantime, I am thinking about Aurelie and Dean fighting real crowds in airports and returning home to real life.
Congratulations Terry and Jen. I look forward to the additions to our family. Let us know when we can come to Saskatoon to celebrate. Looking forward to a wonderful 2007.
