Lake Louise1
The shot everybody takes at Lake Louise
We did a serious hike at Lake Louise in Banff national park. The lady at the information centre thought that we looked tough and proposed to us a nice but long hike. Actually it was a combination of two hikes. We began by walking to the tea house at Lake Agnes, this was a steep climb with an elevation gain of 385m. We had tea with scones and continued with a side trip to a rock (Big Beehive) with an additional elevation gain of 135m. Then we went down an esimated 400m and went up again 250m to the second tea house at the plain of the six glaciers. We had soup and bread at the second tea house, which was marvellous. Then we had to go another 1.2km to the viewing point. And of course when you finally have reached the goal, enjoyed the view for a few minutes in the freezing cold wind coming down, as a reward, you can walk all the way back. But we enjoyed it very much since we really needed to burn some energy. And that we did. In total we hiked like 16km with a total elevation gain of about 800m. We were

waisted. Our hike began 10:30 a.m. and we were back at the car about 6:30 p.m. And we still had to drive for an hour to the next B&B. This B&B was located in the town Golden, which is in British Columbia again. This B&B is named "Kicking Horse Canyon".
