Pine LakeThe lake is 7 kilometres long. Tom and Laura's cabin sits pretty much in the middle of it.
This weekend, we were headed off to Pine Lake. Luckily, our muscles weren't too sore after yesterday's hike up the mountain so the day started well. It was also gorgeous weather again so we have ben pretty lucky so far on that front. We got to the cabin early afternoon and proceeded to get on with the hard work- namely getting the chairs out and sitting around in the sun with some drinks. It's a tough life.
It was so incredibly quiet out there. All you could hear was the sound of the water and some insects buzzing. Occassionally a boat would go past in the water but seeing as it's still quite early in the year, there weren't many out at all.
Another of Tom and Laura's friends, Vic, was meant to be coming down as well. He has just bought himself a new Harley Davidson so when he finally arrived, Laura and I decided to try out the biker chick life and go for a spin with him. It was really good fun, though before we actually set off, i'm not so sure that I was so complacent about it all.
We sat around and chatted for a long
time before setting up the barbeque and having great stekas for dinner. Albertan beef tastes great! It was pretty much the first proper steak i'd ever had. I've tried some back home but they were never that good. This steak just melted in your mouth!
Afterwards we set up a fire outside and then just sat drinking and talking until I fell alseep in front of the fire. I kind of figured it was time to go to bed when I realised that the others started laughing everytime my head fell to one side and my mouth dropped open!
A little unsure?I think I must have been having second thoughts at this point! Too late though because we were already pulling away.
