Hi Guys Well it has been a long few days so far but I have enough energy after my hot tub at the hotel in Brooks to send this email. Plus i have some really cool photos that i wanted to share. Day 1 - All the way from Sydney to Calgary - and after a quick 1.5 hour nap we went to the Calgary Tower (similar to the Centrepoint in Sydney). We had a lovely dinner and met everyone that would be on our trip. The photo attached is of the glass floor you can stand on (more scary that you think) and in the other photo you can see the Stampede Grounds (the big oval building with the red & yellow poles on either side). Well we ended up in the wild wild west. We arrived in Brooks in Southern Alberta, the prairies. We lived in a little house filled with people. There was one bathroom for the nine of us. So pretty crazy to say the least. ... read more
We travelled from Calgary to Medicine Hat, and then Medicine Hat to Brandon, and then from Brandon to Winnipeg, visiting Wal-Marts along the way. Highlights included stopping at Brooks, Alberta for a pic and to continue a family tradition (and visit a Wal-Mart), and our night out in Brandon. In Brandon we decided to go out to Houston's, a country-western bar that was right beside the hotel we were staying at. It was late and we had a big day the next day, so we'd just go in for a couple fizzy ones and hit the sack. Then we met the Brandon boys, as we affectionately call them now.
