greeetings from banff!

We arrived here nearly two weeks ago on a monday at around 930pm after a 12 hour bus ride through the rockies, which was so amazing. Goudly met us at the bus and we ventured to the hostel and then stright to the bar downstairs. Missy and Gouldy had been here nearly 6 weeks already, so we got instantly introduced to a whole crew a people who work in town, mostly Aussies. The next morning we hiked up Tunnel mountain, the smallest of the mountains in town, but had the most amazing view of banff and the national park. There are lots of building restrictions in place here so the town won't get any bigger, which is great cos it is so beautiful, I can't wait til it snows. We had a BBQ later that day and were joined by a few more locals, the town is the kind of size were you just run into everyone you know during the day so you hardly have to call anyone ever. We also went canoeing for a couple of hours with Hamish, who has a really cool job, he just has to organise events to have at the backpackers and then he gets paid when people go.

We have already run into a few people from Melbourne, Vince ran into Kate - Tom Smiths girlfriend, who he knows through Damian Lowther and I went for a job where Gemma Lloyd was the assistant manager, whom i went to Primary and secondary school with. Small world.

Vince and I both have jobs now, he works at the spaghetti factory which is a very cheap pasta joint here and at a pool, supervising waterslides. I am working at a local coffee shop which is keeping me busy for at least 8.5 hours a day 6 days a week. We are hoping to get a couple of days off together so we can hike a few more mountains before it gets really cold which will probably happen very soon.

Hope everyone back home is well, go saints and de la,
lots of love Vince and Cate

The big white blur is a local Ian the Viking, these very serious but not very gifted basketballers showed up and the viking insisted they let him play with them

T2 Bill was the couch of this very unskilled basketball team and we had to get a photo with him... we will alsways wonder about the name.

Apparently this is very common place, so are bears and cougars so you should not venture too far by yourself

We attended an ABC party, Anything But Clothes, so we got a great deal on dry cleaning bags at the dollar store

Strip Frisbee
Sounds like a tough life. Hope the frisbee wasn't 'Strip Frisbee' - four blokes were caught naked at an oval in Glen Iris at 7.30am this morning playing it. Then I put 2+2 together - four naked blokes, Glen Iris Oval, DLA votes day yesterday, Mad monday today.............. I'd better ring Marty and draft a press release about how the players were most apologetic adn didn't mean to bring any more disrepute on the DLS OC AFC than they already have. You playing 'Strip Frisbee' will certainly not help their case. Will flick an email later and bring you up to speed with all the news. Bryan
