In And Around Dubai Day 2

Started our day with a visit to the Gold Souk area in Dubai, and then back the Dubai Mall which is claimed as the largest shopping mall in the world with about 1200 shops of all kinds.

We made a few purchases, ate and then arrived at the base of the tallest freestanding building in the world – the Burj Kahlifa.

At the 127^th level of the building we arrived on the observation deck. Before us was a marvellous aerial view of Dubai and probably hundreds of kilometres all around. This city had on one skyscraper in 1991 and now has many, with new ones being completed each week. All this was created from virtual desert thanks to local oil money and other foreign investment.
