Al Bastikiya... This is one of the oldest parts of Dubai, a restored Heritage area, which has now become home to art galleries, cafes, boutique hotels, and cultural centres. I am an Australian artist painting and living in Dubai. We were based in Abu Dhabi for several years, before spending a year back in Australia, then relocating to Dubai.
When I am not in the studio, I love to take photographs, especially when we are traveling or exploring life in the UAE.
As an artist I am always looking, seeing, photographing, I never leave home without a camera, whether it is a SLR, compact digital or these days often just my iphone!... full info

Hi Brendan , glad you liked the photos . Ha it is very quiet in this area so there usually are very few people around , also the heat keeps people away ...& yes it is very safe there at night ! It is extremely safe here all the time :-)

Kathryn, Great photos. You are really becoming an expert in the area. Where were all the people and is it safe to be walking around there at night? Our lost hot day here today- 30 degrees!
