Well the trip has been amazing so far!
San Fran was crazy running around trying to finish up last minute details. Lesson to myself, I should not procrastinate so much.
Emirates upgraded us to business class for free! Which means, our seats had privacy walls, laid down into beds, we each had 20 inch tvs, we were served 5 course meals, and free alcohol.
Our driver in Dubai was amazing. I had a quick language lesson and learned to say some key phrases in Arabic. Great person. We stayed at the Westin Mina Seyahi Le Meridian. The hotel that was given to us is amazing. I feel like such a scrub but it is beautiful. It is right on the beach, the room is controlled by a remote control.
Out first night we set out explore the nightlife close to our hotel and ended up finding the #1 bar in Dubai for 3 years straight. Everyone said that I was clearly American, and an Athlete or in the Military. My big muscles are really paying off here!
The second day we took the Big Bus City Tour, which explores new and old Dubai. The biggest highlights
of this place is that everything is so big. They have the biggest building Burj Dubai. They have the tallest flag pole at Union House, where the leaders of the 7 emirates created the UAE; the flag pole cost $1.2 million US. The have the largest mall, the largest indoor ski hill. The Palm Islands are the 8th wonder of the world that are man made. The best part is they have the Safestway, not Safeway!
We visited the Jumeirah Palm Island, which is where the Atlantis hotel is located. You can see these islands from outer space.
The tallest building in the world, the Burj Dubai, is 180 floors and it has the fastest elevator in the world.
Dubai also consumes 250 million gallons of water a day to make everything so green!
All in all it has been a great trip! It is expensive here but worth the site seeing.
