We have carried our bikes all round Turkey and never used them. However we got them down today and had a superb early morning ride along the quiet waterfront, through the crowds of the of the busy Eminonu ferry teminal and over the Golden Horn Galata bridge with its hundreds of Staurday morning fishermen.

We spent the rest of the day with thousands of shoppers bartering with the shopkeepers in Istanbul’s famous covered bazaars, first the Grand which has a myriad of small streets and is impossible not to get lost in and then back to the Spice where we bought a supply of Lokum (Turkish Delight).

In the evening we all had a farewell dinner in a rooftop restaurant in the heart of Sultanhamet. It gave us the opportunity of thanking Kevin and Nurcan for all their hard work and support in making this such a successful journey.
