As far as productive and enjoyable trips go I would definately rate this one in the top category. In the past 11 days not only did we manage to squeeze in essential chores but also some play time too.
Once I returned from my Anzac tour I arranged to meet up with some of my old school friends, some of whom I hadn't seen in over 10 years!! Its amazing how time doesn't change anything except for a few extra wrinkles and a few additional pounds... I also saw some of my relatives, and went out for some delicious dinners (I am so going on a diet when I get back!) I managed to fit in some sight seeing and visited my dad and grand parents graves. We went back to our old flat in Erenkoy and bumped into some old neighbours and went down memory lane.. Finally me and mama spent our last three days on Buyukada, Prince's Islands.
Prince's Islands are a chain of nine islands off the coast of Istanbul, in the Sea of Marmara. These islands are Büyükada, Heybeliada, Burgazada, Kınalıada, Sedef Adası, Yassıada, Sivriada , Kaşık Adası and Tavşanadası. During the summer months the
Princes’ Islands are popular destinations for day trips from Istanbul. As there is no traffic on the Islands, the only transport being horse and cart, they are incredibly peaceful compared with the city of Istanbul. They are just a short ferry ride from both the Asian and European sides of Istanbul.
We were lucky that our last few days on the island were lovely and sunny. Me and mama went on a horse and cart ride, relaxed by the sea front and I did a 3 hour trek around the island. Eventhough I am totally drained from this trip I have had a lovely time with mama.
This is my last planned trip of the year as I will now be saving for my next travelling venture hoping to take place in Feb 2009. So watch out for this space as there will be more adventures to come.
Bye for now, M.xxx

Hi Mel
Not only have you kept us all entertained with your travel news, you have created a wonderful diary for you to look back on later in life. I wish blogs had been invented when Adrian and I went round the world 40 years ago.
If you are around the week beginning 27th May HBOS have a show at the Playhouse, Whitstable. featuring Richard Rodgers music. I'll be there all week as I am the PA for the show.
Love Lynn
