As per usual, we got off to an early start and hopped in the bus and headed for the Citadel in Masyaf. Same same, was huge and old and full of ghosts (probably). Then we left and kept on driving, until we got to the Krak Des Chevaliers. Not sure if you know what it is, but it is (yet another castle) however, is a crusader fortress and has been described as probably the best preserved castle in the world. Though for some reason, I'm pretty sure nearly every castle we visited said that same thing. Anyway, it still is quite magnificent, and I reckon it is 10 times better than the other ones we saw. We spent nearly the whole morning there eating lunch as well which was the biggest feed I have ever had in my life!!! (And for extremely cheap) Alot of places and things in Syria are cheap. Apparently all our accommodation and everything for the 5 days or whatever came to about $200 each! And some of the places we stayed.....wow. Very nice. I will post photos once I get back to Australia.

So after feeding ourselves silly we jumped back in the bus and headed for Palmyra. We had a tour guide show us around The Old City of Palmyra, but was only for an hour as it closed at 6pm. So we decided to have the same tour guide for the next day, and saw the rest of it.

We put our stuff in our hotel The Semiramis, and headed down to a bar/restaurant place (I forget the name) and watched the sunset over the ruins of The Old City whilst sipping on some delicious white wine. Was perfect!

The next morning we got up and found our tour guide who showed us the 3 brothers tombs (Naamai, Male and Saadai), the Main Avenue and the Monumental Arch. It was very hot and dry (dur) but so much worse when there is absolutely no shade.

So after that, off we went in the bus again, and stopped off and Bagdad Cafe for a refreshment and toilet stop. Peeing into a hole is no fun. Especially when its so smelly. But there's somethings you just have to do at least once in your life! We saw some cool beehive house things, and an Arabic scarecrow!! Haha

Then off to Damascus we went. And stayed the night there at Dar Al-Yasmin. Crazily large beds! But very cool. And off to sleep fpr another day to come.
