yesterday we took a bus from petra to wadi rum and it wasnt that bad as we traveled in the morning so the weather was still cool and we went with a south african called ryan
who was training to be a war photographer so he was in libya just 2 weeks ago! when we got wadi rum bus stop we where still 4 miles from rum village and it was through
dessert so we hitchiked to the village in a japanese womans car. at rum village we hired a tent and left our stuff in it so that we could go and have a camel ride to lawrence
springs and back through the dessert. after the camel ride we went to the shop and got some food and settled down to eat it then went to bed (the heat of the day was 35
degrees and the night was 0 degrees!). at 6am we didnt manage to get on the bus as it was too full so we payed a man 6 jd to take us back to another bus station in his pick
up truck. when we got to aqaba we walked to the egyptian consulate and got our visas that took 3 hours so we missed the ferry to egypt and had to take a taxi to the border
of israil and go through it to egypt however ryan went to the israil air port and we stayed with an new zeland couple to egypt (the exit taxes were ridiculus they had taxes for
pretty much everything). in egypt we got a bus to dahab and looked around for a hotel and there were lots so we chose the best one which was 80 egyption dollars which is
about 8 pounds (it was cheap because the tourisim is down by the revolution) and the room had air con 2 beds an en suite bath room and a sea over view! at lunch and dinner
we had cats pester us for food so we threw bread for them to eat, the new zelandes are still with us at the moment (thier names are joseph and amy) and we're planning on
going snorcling tomorrow.
