We awoke early in the morning to the hee-hawing of the Bedouin donkeys. It took a long time for everyone to completely wake up, but soon enough, we ate breakfast and were on our way to an Israeli supermarket to buy our own lunch. The grade was divided into six different groups, and each group had three items on a list that they were required to buy.
After shopping for lunch, we headed to an ancient Roman amphitheater at Beit Guvrin to see where gladiators would fight to the death. When we got there, we met with the legendary gladiator, Roman the Roman :-). He taught us many techniques to use if we ever travel back in time to become gladiators. After we learned how to fight, our fun-loving tour guide Elhanan taught us about the Bar Kochba revolt. It was finally time for our supermarket lunch.
After lunch, we were on our way to crawl through the Bar Kochba caves. Going through the tunnels was a challenge. We had to crawl on our stomaches though tunnels that were two feet by two feet at some times. Some parts of it required us to help each other but we all got
through and had a lot of fun. It was reasuring to find out that we were going back to the hotel to take a shower after. After our relaxing showers, we walked to Ben-Yehuda Street, known as the Midrachov to Israelis meaning sidewalk street, to have a night of Israeli food and shopping. We had a awesome day.

The lessons of the ancient warriors of Israel show us that we must be pro-active with our oppressors. Never give up and "zahor"
By the way, spent some time at Nicolet, and saw your quilt on display. Great job- we loved it!! and we love you!!!

Hi Eveyone, Hi Em, I hope you are all feeling better and ready for a new day. The latest news on the Today Show is that they are replacing the "Where in the World is Mat Lauer" segment with "Where in the World is Benji Wichman." Em, please make sure that when you or someone else finds Benji, you have him call home. Did you all leave him behind with the camels? Love, mom

Mom and Dad keep me posted and that has been wonderful. I look forward to traveling with you on your next trip at the end of the month. Enjoy the rest of the trip! Love and miss you! XOXOXOXO Grammy
You are acting irresponsibly, thinking only of the fact you are having the time of your lives. Don't you realize that, across this great nation, parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and sometimes even brothers and sisters want to know exactly what each and every one of you is doing every minute of the day. Do you think we can wait a week until you're home? We want to know now! Longer blogs! More pictures! It will mean less time for you to have fun - but think of how happy it will make us. --Laurel's dad
