this was the moment i dreamt about. coming through the walls of the old city of jerusalem and saying : blessed is He who comes in the NAME of the Lord.
In that day there will be a highway from Egypt to Assyria. The Assyrians will go to Egypt and the Egyptians to Assyria. The Egyptians and Assyrians will worship together. In that day Israel will be the third, along with Egypt and Assyria, a blessing on the earth

To bring REAL,TRUE LASTING peace in the Middle East we all need to be honest and truthful with ourselves. To bring POLITICAL peace in the middle east - we, as people need to be REALISTIC with ourselves. The choice we need to make is this: WHAT kind of peace is acceptable?WHAT kind of peace is ACHIEVABLE?
There is only ONE choice people need to make. And... it is this : do I want an end to bloodshed in the Middle East.? Until the warring nations in the Middle East spend more of their financial budgets on PEACE instead of WAR, there will be a continuation of WAR... until the warring nations in the middle east spend more money and energy and time sending peace emissaries and volunteers instead of Soldiers, guns and weapons, there will be a continuation of the fighting in the Middle East; until the warring nations put their minds and their monies into building roads, hospitals , schools and economies; there will not be any lasting security in the region. Until the understanding comes that violence begets violence and blood begets blood... there will not be PEACE in the Middle East. Amen.
But-if a fraction of the money spent on WAR should be spent on PEACE... given to those working for PEACE... ;we shall see a turning of the tide, and of the waves of despair , hopelessness and apathy currently in the Middle East. It needs the groundswell of the cries of the Children of God to begin to speak to the minds of the dictators of the nations of fearmongerers and warfreaks.
When PEACE becomes more than a buzzword, more than an ideal... when PEACE becomes a reality ; a truth... a place where ALL men walk towards... then -we shall see an end to WAR... or at least the beginning of the end of all war; and this process essentially begins with a Spirit of Optimism- Faith and Trust in the God that everyone believes in ... or at least ... "says " they believe in!- this is where the place we begin to live in is a place called HOPE... instead of a place called : FEAR. Coming to the perfect place when we make peace with God is the object of all spiritualites that ascribe to truth.
No true believer in God can convince me otherwise. Our true war, our true battle; the true sword... is the division between right and wrong, good and evil... and according to the prophet Jeremiah , WITH THE KNOWLEDGE of God we have no need for any teachers any more. The code is written on your heart by the Spirit of God.( jer, 31,33-4)
"This is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel
after that time," declares the LORD.
"I will put my law in their minds
and write it on their hearts.
I will be their God,
and they will be my people.
34 No longer will a man teach his neighbor,
or a man his brother, saying, 'Know the LORD,'
because they will all know me,
from the least of them to the greatest,"
declares the LORD.
"For I will forgive their wickedness
and will remember their sins no more."
Our experiences in South Africa during the transition times of the apartheid government was exactly this point. We decided we wanted an end to not a perpetuation of bloodshed!?
As a Peaceworker, a Born Again- Spirit filled Christian, as a Rainbow warrior, a human rights activist and as a person avowed to the course of non-violence ;I see that this is indeed the first step towards peace in the middle east.(have to repeat the mantra)
The second step is to hold a referendum, a universal regional referendum amongst ALL the people in the countries that live in the area from the Nile River to The Euphrates.
That includes : The Israelis, The Egyptians ,the Lebanese, the Palestinians, The Syrians, The Turks, Te Iraqis, The Kurds, The Saudis, The Iranians and the Kuwatis.
To achieve POLITICAL PEACE a REFERENDUM needs to be held to ask these IMPORTANT questions:
1. Does the State of Israel and the Jewish people have the right to exist alongside all Arab nations?
2. Do the Palestinian people deserve a viable state to live in peace AND COEXISTENCE with all their neighbours including Israel?
3. Can Jerusalem be a city for ALL the nations, a House Of Prayer for ALL the Nations? for my house will be called a house of prayer for all nations." the prophet Isaiah (56,7).
So the question is this...can there be a POLITICAL peace that gives rights to ALL? Rights to live in peace, to provide for families, to own land and to buy and to sell without let or hindrance, to practise ones personal spiritual belief and understanding without fear of persecution in the Holy Lands of the descendants of the Father of MANY nations...Abraham!!! ?
No longer will you be called Abram ; your name will be Abraham, for I have made you a father of many nations. Gen. 17, 5.
In our South Africa experience we got down on our knees and corporately prayed for peace. We asked God almighty to have MERCY on us and to give us PEACE...why ?because we understood the sanctity of human life as being paramount as a foundation of ANY kind of peace!
And today , that experiment is largely successful!
We still have a long way to go to achieve a PERMANENT peace... but, through spiritual understanding of one another ;and the respect for human life , we are on the road to that perfect peace.
There can be no peace unless we KNOW peace! And coming to the point of understanding and the place of that understanding by accepting one anothers RIGHT TO EXIST... THIS IS THE FIRST STEP TOWARDS PEACE.

Part two:
Knowing Peace in the Middle East - Moving from Political peace to Spiritual Peace.
All three main religions in the Middle East are mono theistic. All believe in the existence of ONE GOD.
Thus to know peace it is up to the individual to KNOW GOD... for GOD IS PEACE. ( every religion, every master, every prophet, every teacher...everyone. says this)
"Submit to God and be at peace with him; in this way prosperity will come to you.The prophet job (22,21)
Islam means essentially "to submit to God." Muslim- Means to "BELIEVE"- in God.
In Christianity we submit ourselves to GOD as Christ submitted Himself to God, In Judaism being a JEW is also being submitted in ones heart to God; even Moses said the same thing... its all about submission to God - the sovereign Lord-ADONAI.. Knowledge begins with submission; inner submission.
Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. (Romans 13,1)
No, a man is a Jew if he is one inwardly; and circumcision is circumcision of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the written code.
(The Apostle Paul(a Jew) In a Letter to the Romans 2,29)
So being Submitted to God as all three religions dictate is something that everyone understands. It is written in the Koran, the Torah and the New Testament many times. So knowing God and moving into spiritual peace is allowing oneself to LEARN... and to LISTEN... to the Wind of God that moves amongst ALL men. ( the Ruach Hakadosh- the Holy Spirit- the Spirit of God)
Therefore to KNOW God one should be submitted to God.-AND NOT TO MANS PRECEPTS!
If this concept and ideal is real then why do we kill one another because of our religion? Does any of the Holy Books say we should? The answer is simply NO.
Yes- WE CAN DEFEND OUR RELIGION AND OUR SELVES- AND OUR FAMILIES THROUGH VIOLENT MEANS... BUT NO- NOT TO KILL OR BY OFFENSIVE MEANS.-this is simply unkosher- haram- and sinful.
"You shall not murder. Deuteronomy 5,17( one of the ten commandments of God.)
To STOP this cycle of violence that is an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth - is very difficult. It will require PEOPLE POWER. And it will require the KNOWLEDGE OF GOD...AND THE NATURE OF WHO HE IS.
For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea. Habakkuk 2,14
For PEOPLE POWER... there needs to be a POLITICAL WILL coming from ALL the nations of the world. And all the leaders of the world. Is there a conspiracy? well theres one way to find out...
-challenge your leaders to apply pressure on the regional leaders to hold such a referendum. If the will is there.... and the result is positive...the governments will then have NO grounds to continue to pursue their agendas of violence in Iraq- Iran-Afghanistan- The Palestinian authority and Israel. People power. Right now the majority of the Arab nation believes that the reason America is in Iraq and Afganistan is because of OIL.-and of course the lucrative WEAPONS AND RECONSTRUCTION Contracts. So lets prove them otherwise... a show of good faith.
Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.PSALM 34,14 .
Let the people decide their fate ; give them a free opportunity to VOTE for their future -democratically through agreed consensus,and I am sure you will be surprised by the results. Really.
What are the alternatives?
TOTAL WAR? TOTAL BLOODSHED... FOREVER? In Hegelian philosophy this seems the only path to peace... but in the case of the Holy Lands... it is undoubtedly not workable. The political will needs to be there to achieve political peace in the middle east... and it must be a grassroots process... one by one... everyone needs to get involved- not by apathy hiding away...... but through participation. .. individual ...active participation. this will bring the first changes towards political lasting peace.Its got to be a revolution that begins from the bottom and goes to the top... but to do this...there needs to be a partnership for peace initiative , and that why I call this plan: the zechariah peace plan.
Bring next to the politicians all the spiritual leaders of the region together. Let them openly debate the merits of Jihad and Zionism-and whatever other stumbling blocks stop people from living together in peace. Let the teachers come forward and give their views... try something different for a change... and you will be surprised at the outcome...
this is how to do it... not by clever political negotiators and manoeuvrerers they will get their chance later...!
Make every effort to live in peace with all men and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord. Hebrews 12,14
As long as we ACCEPT that peoples hearts cannot change. Then we will not change.
When the people have the right to speak up for themselves without being intimidated ; then I believe there will be changes and THIS is Gods will! God wants all men to live in peace with each other.
When I stood on top of the Petra Hostel praying for the peace of Jerusalem (psalm122, 6)-I asked God HOW there would be REAL peace in this eternal city.
And the words of ZECHARIAH came to me immediately. ..
Not by POWER, not by MIGHT... but by MY SPIRIT says the Lord.
September 11th WAS ALL about JERUSALEM,
THE INVASION OF IRAQ , the bombing of AFGHANISTAN. .. and the possible bombing of Iran... is ALL about JERUSALEM.
I have tried to use my spiritual understanding of God to bring peace to these troubled lands...
I have used my knowledge of God and my experience as a human rights and peace activist to bring peace to these lands, I have travelled far, met and spoke with many teachers and wise men all over the middle east; held and been instrumental in holding peace meetings in Jordan ,Syria Egypt , Turkey and Israel. I have seen fundamentalists who believe WAR and bloodshed change their hearts from STONE to FLESH...
and I still believe that peace is possible in the middle east. Step by step.Heart by heart. Spirit to Spirit. !
It is the inner desire of all men to know God. Whether they admit that or not. It is the inner desire of all men to come to the source of our creation... and our creator...
and shake hands with it.
But to find SPIRITUAL , INNER , PERSONAL and PERFECT PEACE;. one needs to meet the PRINCE OF PEACE... !Yeshua, Jesus, Issa. hallelujah ( Praise the Lord)!!
In the mean time we all need to be content with achieving a temporary , temporal - political peace.- even though its not first prize... its at least better than what we have now.
And the first step to this is holding a universal referendum that creates the DESIRE for peace.
After this referendum , the sons of Abraham need to sit around a table or a campfire and discuss How to live in the same lands together. I've seen how this is possible in the Rainbow Gatherings we have had in Turkey , Egypt and Jordan. I know this is not a true and lasting peace- but its a start and its better than creating orphans for the sake of power.
Once people sit down together and start talking and trying to find peaceful solutions and reasons NOT to kill one another- we all have a chance to discover our true spirituality.
This is our true journey upwards to enlightenment and self discovery and meeting the source of truth. We need to be obedient to the basic laws of the universe and scriptural laws. And this does not involve wanton murder.
Jerusalem WILL be a HOUSE of PRAYER for ALL the nations.
Israel -as a political entity WILL continue to exist in the Middle East.
Forceful dominance has Never ever DECIDED the fate of the people of the Middle East... It will not work with extremist Zionism , nor Militant Islam , nor Crusader Christianity.
Many nations have tried and failed to dominate the Holy Lands. The path to peace is simply achievable by following the road the prophet ZECHARIAH HAS LAID OUT FOR US.
Not by Power, Not by Might...
It is up to the partners for peace to influence the main players to hold such a referendum as soon as possible. This will give thepoliticans the mandate to ACT!
In the beginning trust needs to be developed by creating a relationship of trust. But without the mandate of all of the children of Abraham; the conflict and the violence will go on.
It is our collective desire for peace that will create the critical mass to turn the tide against WAR... AND VIOLENCE.
We need to DO what is humanly possible in order for God to do what is humanly Impossible.
...BUT BY MY SPIRIT ! says theLord.
