As Rough Guide USA puts it: "Once you've seen Niagara Falls, from as many different angles as you can manage, there's no point in sticking around, and you'll have a better time heading on to Buffalo." There is frequent city bus service from Buffalo to The Falls, return fare $3.50. Take your passport along so you'll be able to enjoy the Canadian side as well.

Those with reservations who want to arrive outside desk hours (8-10am & 5-10pm) must contact the hostel in advance by phone or e-mail to receive instructions. Guests may drop off luggage as early as 7am. We strive to have beds ready for new guests by 12noon. There is no lockout or curfew for registered guests. Please note: rates quoted are for members of Hostelling International; others pay an additional $3 per person per night.

New York's second largest city, Buffalo is known world-wide for its architectural treasures; only Chicago boasts a larger collection of buildings by America's foremost architects. The acclaimed Albright-Knox Art Gallery boasts one of the top modern collections in the world. Summer and fall find large crowds enjoying Buffalo's waterfront. And most guidebooks comment on Buffalo's lively nightlife scene. The hostel is located a short walk from the center of activity--and just 1km from the Anchor Bar, where Buffalo chicken wings were invented. Let's Go USA says that a combination of big-city perks and small-town warmth make Buffalo a soothing place to spend some time. Indeed, many travelers stay a day--or several--longer than they originally planned.
