Circle A Ranch is a Guest Hostel and Meeting Place located within the Santa Fe National Forest five miles north of Cuba, New Mexico, and is virtually adjacent to the San Pedro Wilderness Area atop the Nacimiento Mountains. The ranch is over 360 acres at 7,600 feet, with pinion, ponderosa and oak forests. There is running water and a lovely creek valley just below the house. There are many trails for walking and hiking and several small lakes.
The house itself sits in an apple orchard, and is an old, rambling, two-story adobe hacienda, originally built as a hunting lodge in the 1920's. There is a grand old living room with a huge fireplace and a terrace overlooking the orchard.
We cater to both the individual traveler, and to organizations who wish to reserve the facilities for workshops or corporate retreats.
We offer Hostel style accommodation for groups seeking a location for workshops, classes, retreats, gatherings and other social events. We are perfect for groups of students studying in the area, for those seeking wilderness or spiritual retreat, or for those simply wanting a vacation. We have weddings, family gatherings and .... you name it.
The dining and living rooms are each large enough to serve as classrooms, and there are several outdoor spaces that provide unique possibilities.
There are private rooms for 8 people, bunk facilities for 26, and camping space for virtually any number. There is an equipped kitchen, dining room and additional outdoor solar showers for large groups. Groups can be self catering or hire help from the area.
We provide towels for guests in the double rooms. Bunk guests will need to bring their own towels.
Allowing for weather and special arrangements, the Hostel opens as May approaches and closes as October cools down. If you are a group looking to stay outside of the normal hostel season, and would like to rent the entire facilities, contact us and we'll see what we can do.
The ambiance is peaceful, secluded, rustic and friendly. Our guests say it is one of the finest places to stay in New Mexico!
