Quinta Splendida Wellness and Botanical Garden is located in Caniço, just 15 minutes drive from the airport and the capital Funchal on the Island of Madeira. The estate is set in 30.000 square meters of landscaped botanical gardens with over 1.000 species of different plants, tempting the guests to take a walk and relax taking unforgettable holiday experiences back home.
The main building is a restored 19th century Manor House, rich in antiquities and paintings.
The accommodation is situated in spacious cottages around the gardens and the pool. From the outdoor pool, you can enjoy fantastic views across the Atlantic to the nearby nature reserve Ilhas Desertas. Due to perfect design and natural beauty, the Quinta Splendida Wellness and Botanical Garden has been given the Golden Estrelicia award by the Madeiren government as well as the Gold Crown and Holly award by international tour operators.
Accommodation
In 1989 the property was in disrepair and was bought by a Swiss gentleman and carefully restored according to the old designs. In 1993, the construction of an exquisite holiday resort began within the agricultural part of the grounds and the botanical gardens were created. Quinta Splendida Wellness and Botanical Garden has a total of 141 rooms, with 4 different accommodation types and 25 SPA suites: standard twin room, studio, one or two bedroom apartments. All apartments and studios offer a kitchenette, private facilities, hairdryer, telephone, Sat-TV, rental safe, balcony or patio terrace with either sea view or garden view. Double rooms offer a mini bar instead of the kitchenette and some do not have a balcony or a terrace.
Twin rooms double and single occupancy rates are including breakfast buffet. All other room categories offered are on room only. Breakfast is € 14 per person and day if booked in advance.

Food & Beverage
You have a fantastic choice of places to eat, drink, relax and sample organic produce.

The Gourmet Restaurant, La Perla is located in the manor house and has recently been distinguished as one of the best restaurants in Portugal, by the Portuguese Academy of Gastronomy. It uses mainly organically grown vegetables and herbs from the surrounding gardens.
The Restaurant Galeria offers a generous breakfast buffet and Italian and Portuguese specialties.
The Thai Lounge will complement the holistic well-being that will be offered by the brand new Spa and Wellness facility.
The outdoor bar Siddhartha in trendy design with turquoise blue colors is located near the pool overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and serves a full range of health food, salads, pasta dishes and a variety of drinks, coffee, tea, juices, shakes and smoothies.
The Globe cocktail and evening bar at the upper end of the pool offers an extensive drinks menu and regular live music, folklore, Fado evenings etc, during the week.

Sports and Leisure
The centre piece of the resort is the outdoor heated swimming pool, with a sun terrace overlooking the ocean. Also situated here are The Globe Bar, and the health centre with sauna, Turkish bath and Jacuzzi and a lounge with snooker and table tennis. The health centre is free of charge for the guests.
The brand new 1400m² Spa and Wellness Area Tep Panom (surcharges apply) offers an oasis of luxury suites and spa facilities such as an indoor and vitality pool, a traditional Finnish sauna, an ice pool, a heated stone bed relaxation zone within the sauna section and a cardiovascular fitness and weight station. There is also a Turkish steam sauna, a Far Eastern-style mud bath, an igloo with ice fountain, and 10 treatment rooms with an extensive treatment list. Fact sheet can be provided.
Close to the hotel there are a post office, a large supermarket and shops. In Caniço itself, at about 100 m distance, the guests find banks, shops and several restaurants as well a good public bus connection to Funchal and to the seaside. Nearby at the sea there is the Manta Diving Centre, also within short reach there are the two golf courses of Palheiro Ferreiro (18 hole, elegant) and Santo da Serra (27 hole, rougher, special prices and transport free of charge for the hotel’s guests as well as horseback riding facilities). Note that in 2004 and 2006, the hotel has hosted and sponsored several major golf events which gave the staff a great golfing experience, enabling it to offer superior quality golf services to the guests. Other potential activities include mountain/levada walking, hiking, mountain climbing, mountain biking, canoeing, parasailing, jet skiing, kayaking, windsurfing, big game fishing, dolphin and whale watch.

Facilities and Services
There is a 24-hour reception service and English, German and French speaking staff, plus an art gallery, library, garden tour as well a complimentary shuttle bus to Funchal. Make use of the hotel's internet free of charge at the computer near reception. You can also bring your own laptop and use the wireless internet access outside of Bar Siddhartha free of charge. At an additional charge make use of the rent-a-car and laundry service. You may park in one of the 40 spaces, 2 € per day subject to changes.
Meeting Facilities
The hotel offers two meeting rooms, the “Winter Garden” and the “Art Gallery,” which can respectfully accommodate, depending on the function, 100 to 200 people (classroom, cocktail, banqueting/wedding styles) and 30 to 50 people (unique table, classroom, cocktail styles).

If cancelled up to 3 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged.
If cancelled up to 1 day before date of arrival, 20 percent of all nights will be charged.
