Real Inn dos Marcos is an historic palace that has been reconstructed from an old episcopal residence (18th century), located in the village of Bemposta, where D. Manuel Martins Manso, Bishop of Guarda, was born in and lived in. The Bishop Martins-Manso will have added the chapel to the original building, in honour of the Holy Mary, in the second half of 18th century.

Solar dos Marcos is a classified 4-star Real Inn (inn) with 8 double rooms (1 room adapted for handicapped persons), 1 suite, 1 extensible restaurant for up to 40 people, 1 bar, 1 multi-functional hall with 40 places, a private covered garage for 13 cars, a private chapel and garden with a swimming pool.

The building has been also classified as Excellent Architectural Value by the Portuguese General Directorate of Tourism.

ACTIVITIES

The house "Dos Marcos" has an entertainment programme, based on the routes along the Arribes del Duero, and also offers the opportunity of going on a boat trip along the River Duero, or a trips by car, with excursions on foot, around the most important areas of the International Duero Natural Park and the “Arribes del Duero" Park.
