I have never had trouble changing money on arrival, especially when I fly into coutries. There are exchange offices at international airports that have long opening hours. If you really want to change some money before you go, use a currency converter on the internet to see what the official rate is. If the rate you can get in the US is equal to or above this then it is OK. If it is below I would risk the chance that there will be a better rate in Nicaragua. Another point is that when you fly into countries you sometimes get a better rate at the airport than at other places. It may be worth finding out if this is the case in Nicaragua before you get there if you can. In general, I think it is more cost effective to pick up money with your cash card instead of changing money. I didn't have any problems picking up money in Nicaragua. It is a good idea to take dollars in case your card does not work or there is no chash machine etc. Enjoy Nicaragua patrickrath Patrick Post Count: 5 Msg: #4 153 days ago, May 13th 2008 | Thank you both for your responses.
