So, my husband and I are trying to plan our next vacation for August 2008. Problem- our now 6 month old son will be joining us, and I'm not quite comfortable flying with him yet. We traveled by car with him in February to West Palm Beach which was about a 10hr trip for us. So, I'm trying to find a place within driving distance that I haven't been to before. We live in Mobile, AL (no jokes please).
So, here are my top 3 choices so far. Has anyone been to any of these places? Where would you suggest going?

San Antonio, TX- I've actually been here before, but it was years ago and I don't remember much. I just remember the River Walk being very beautiful.

Charleston, SC- My parents just got back from Charleston. They loved it and highly recommended it. Of course, they're old so I'm not sure if they loved it in an "old fashioned" way or in a way that I would love.

Little Rock, AR- Arkansas is not the first place I would normally consider for vacation, but their website looked promising.

I can't five you any information on Little Rock or Charleston, but San Antonio is a great place to visit. I've been 10 or 12 times so far. The Riverwalk is beautiful and there are lots things to do there. You might also check out Sea World or the San Antonio Zoo. I'm not sure what exactly you are looking for. What kind of things do you like doing? If you are into historical things then there are the missions in and around San Antonio.

normally we are theme park types of people, but that's impossible to do with a 6 month old. we like shopping, art galleries, music, etc.
thanks for your input. that was very helpful. :)
