LA to San Fran, tours

Traveling on my own, would like a cheap tour. I have 13 days to spend

Hi, this will be the last leg of my trip, I have 13 days between arrving in LA and leaving for Ireland from San Fran. I was looking at a 10 day tour with contiki travel that would bring me by san diego, phoenix, Las Vagas to san fran. I was wondering if anyone knew of similar tours I could have a look into? I dont have a driving liscence so I cant rent a car :( Thanks.

I don't have much idea about contiki tours... if you are just looking for mode of transport between two cities (instead of a full guided tour), you can use Amtrak (train/bus), Greyhound bus, or some other public transport.. I believe greyhound connects LA-SF, LA-SD, LA-LV pretty well.. and they are quite reasonable too... public transport within the city is quite good in all these cities... you can easily survive without car (specially in SF and LV you don't want a car!)

While at the west coast, don't miss to visit San Diego (beaches, zoo, wild life safari, sea world, channel islands), Las Vegas, Los Angeles (disney, six flags, universal studios, the city), San Francisco, etc. There are also a few really good national parks (Yosemite, Sequoia, Joshua tree, ...), however you will need to take some tour as public transport is not available for these forests...

I recommend to rent a car with a GPS system and just drive to whereever you want to go! <snip> is a great website to start your planning.
