Just somewhere different...ive heard that Aceh, sumatra is good but is still devistated by tsunami etc. | cheers! Well if you change your mind here are some inexpensive locations to try! | I am not a diver myself - only snorkeled which doesn't count, I know. However, I have heard that the Similan Islands off the west coast of Thailand have some of the best diving in the world. There is also good diving near Krabi also on the west coast of Thailand. I suppose third in Thailand (maybe) would be near Koh Tao on the east side. Good luck! Paul The Best of Samui <snip> [Edited: 15:26 - Jo Trouble - url removed. It's probably to late to change your itinerary but i recommend Guam and especially Palau, amazing! | -Chris [Edited: 17:29 - archipelagoboy ] PA Leslie Pierre-Alexandre Post Count: 140 Msg: #6 137 days ago, April 23rd 2008 | Hi, | Just be careful with Philippines as at that time of the year, it's the typhoon season....you may be lucky...or very unlucky. South around Indonesia the weather will be much more safer...I'm heading for Tubbataha in a month, with one more little stop in Palau. Have fun! A little more difficult to get to though cheap and really good diving. | Either check out Pulau Weh off the northern tip near Banda Aceh or some of the island on the west coast like Nias or islands off the coast of Padang. There are some charter boat companies that take you diving to some remote islands along the west coast leaving from Padang. It's rated as the world top 3 diving spot. If you take the time to do some research on the island, i'm sure you will choose to go there instead of any other places in asia. | life_is_great Laetitia Post Count: 59 Msg: #10 49 days ago, July 20th 2008 | Cant agree more! Heading to Sipadan really soon... it is indeed said to be in the top three worldwide so guess it is worth to have a look at it! | Laur4 Laura Fowler Post Count: 61 Msg: #11 47 days ago, July 22nd 2008 | Labuanbajo on Flores. Dive with Reefseekers. ran by a scottish guy who knows everything about everything. We saw 20 Manta Ray on one dive!, plenty of sharks, and turtles. long long stretches of the most beautiful coral you ever saw. And if your lucky a dive trip can co incide with a trip to Rinca or Komodo island to see the Komodo Dragons. Something well worth doing as you get to go as a group of 10-12 rather than 100+. And its cheap! | Number of Users: 11 | Number of Posts: 11 | |||||||||||||||||||
