Lexa22 Alexandra Post Count: 2 Msg: #1 114 days ago, April 2nd 2008 | There are two possible countries open to me for a scholarship: Czech Republic and Denmark. For either 6 months (minimum) to a year (maximum). I have never been out of my country, and I just graduated from University. What would be a safe and interesting choice to live in for the duration mentioned above between the two countries. I will be allowed to country hop by the organization supporting me... So, if I pick Denmark will it be easy to go to Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands? and if I pick the Czech Republic, will I have an easy time going to: Germany, Austria, Poland and Slovakia? In terms of the living conditions and amount of money needed, will my Dollars or Euro go further in Czech Republic than Denmark? | Thanks for the help! I will have more questions lined up. prinsesse Beathe Post Count: 16 Msg: #2 114 days ago, April 2nd 2008 | I'm pretty sure your dollars/euros will go further in Czech Republic. København is one of the most expensive cities in europe to live in. At least according to a norwegian website. (http://php.dinside.no/php/art.php?id=372477) How the pricerate it is outside of København i do not know, but it will still cost you more than Czech Republic, i guess. | paja Pavel Nový Post Count: 9 Msg: #3 108 days ago, April 9th 2008 | hi, it depend what you are looking for. i have never been in danmark, but danmark is toooooo much expensive than czechia. if you wanna see more from european nature i must recomened czechia :-) here you can reach alps, high tatra, you can take trip to croatia coast during summer, austrian lakes etc... in northern europe you have just "northern nature" and from others it is a bit far... of cours - iam from czech republic :-) so i am partial. anyway all place you wrote are absolutely OK to visit. | bye, pavel Mell Mel Fla Post Count: 2732 Msg: #4 106 days ago, April 10th 2008 | Hello Alexandra :) | I can certainly recommend the Czech Republic. I have been there a couple of times. I generally take an interest in history when I am in the former Eastern Block so I check out the communist information they have about the old days. If your organization is paying for you then maybe Denmark would be the choice. It is more expensive than the Czech Republic. You can go to the Czech Republic when you are paying yourself. I have not been to Denmark but every country has at least something special about it. It will be easy to go to Germany and then to the Netherlands and Belgium by train and plane from the Czech Republic. I live in Germany and do that sometimes. I never tried getting to and from Denmark. You could try out this site for flights. Somebody recommended it to me because I need to go to Denmark in the hopefully near future. I am a solo-female traveller, and I'm 22. Never travelled... how about this issue taken into consideration? | Thanks for all of your replies! Keep em' coming =) Mell Mel Fla Post Count: 2732 Msg: #6 106 days ago, April 10th 2008 | I dont think either country is dangerous for solo women Alexandra. | Last time I was in Prague I went out all night to a club and I had and saw no trouble.
