I know that July is a bad time to watch soccer (football) games in Europe, since most leagues are not playing. But we would still like to go see one, even if it's the friendly games. I hope something will come up! |  Andy Clarke Andy Clarke Post Count: 4 Msg: #6 186 days ago, April 11th 2008 | Wanderlust, | Next season's fixtures won't be available at this stage (have to wait until this season is over), but the Austrian and Swiss leagues start in early July so you should be able to get to a game in either country. www.soccerway.com will have details of the fixtures, when they are announced (but check the exact match dates with club websites as soccerway often just says which weekend they are). If you're heading to Italy, it's not much further to Slovenia or Croatia, where the season starts at the end of July. I went to Rijeka v Cibalia in the Croatian league last July - the stadium is carved into the rocks next to the Adriatic. I'd also recommend going to a match in Ljubljana, because it's such a great place to visit. You should also look out for the draws for the Uefa Cup qualifiers, as these take place in late July.
