I´ve read in the rough guide that residents of rep of Ireland need to get a visa in advanace of going to Bolivia...about 5 weeks in advance. Is this the case? Has anyone applied for it?

Hey Pony,

Unless something has changed, no visas are required for Irish citizens. See the following webpage from the Bolivian consulate in Atlanta, USA. http://www.bolivianconsulate.com/english/groups.php. It correctly shows that US citizens need a visa (which is a new policy as of 12/07). Ireland is listed in Group I as not requiring a visa. Also, I know that US citizens can obtain a visa on arrival at the airport or any land border. If for some reason Ireland is moved to Group II, the same would probably be the case.

Thanks! I also popped into the embassy in Buenos Aires and they confirmed that Rep of Ireland people don't need visas but they couldn't tell me if we can stay for 30 or 90 days.
Thanks for the link!
