Hi.
I am planning to go by bus from Foz do Iguacu to the Pantanal Region (Campo Grande or Bonito).
Are there any direct connections by bus? Do I have to change the bus somewhere on the way?
How long does the trip take?
Do the busses run during the day or over-night?
Is it possible to pre-book the trip?
Thank you for your help
Michael

I am planning to do the same thing in July. My friend did the opposite (Pantanal - Iguazu) and I think that it was done on one bus, but I am not certain.

If anyone else can confirm it would be great.

Hi There

we did this bus journey from Foz to Campo Grande overnight and I found it very safe to travel overnight in Brasil. Yes, you can prebook at the bus station and we arrived at 6:00 in the morning in Campo Grande. Our bus stopped in the evening at a petrol station and disappeared for 1 hour with the luggage etc. and we were advised that we had to change bus. This was a bit weird but the other Brasilian passenger said that the connecting bus will come with the luggage and then continue the journey. This is exactly what happened but we bought one ticket and were not advised that we have to change bus. I am not sure if there is a 'real' direct bus, but it was fine like this. The trip took 12-14hours or so (can't remember exactly).

Also, be prepared that you will be 'welcomed' by tour operators in Campo Grande and it was very annoying as they are aggressive and we didn't expect that at 6:00 in the morning! However, as we had pre-arranged the tour into the Pantanal, we were picked up by the operator, who fought of the competition. Maybe, it's worth to shop around and check what is on offer but I was happy with our tour. The Pantanal was great and one of the best things we have done - so enjoy the trip!
