I was wondering if anyone has tips for meeting other travellers/backpackers? I will be on my own and the idea of being so far away without any company is rather daunting... I stayed in hostels/hotels where backpackers go - such as the Wang Fat Hostel in causeway bay. (its clean and safe and cheap), and i met lots of westerners there, and hung out with them. Alternatively, Its really easy to meet people because the chinese are really hospitable and if you're sociable and try and speak to them they are happy to chat back - eating lunch in the park attracts lots of attention, people come and ask you where you are from etc... and talk about where they are from...
