As long time users of travelblog.org, my friend Brian (aka: TravelGoon) and I (aka: AlanZ) are pleased to introduce a new website that will allow you to automatically turn your blog into a bookstore-quality book, share it with others if you like, and even earn a royalty on sales. | Droptheworld.com will be launching very soon and we will be celebrating by working with Ali to make a special edition book - The Best of TravelBlog, 2007! And who better to choose the content but the travelblog.org community? So we encourage all of you to this topic and let us know which blogs you think deserve to be included. We want the most amusing, entertaining, thought-provoking entries. Perfect grammar and spelling will not be required, but some really stunning photos are always good (actually, embarrassing photos are good too)… Either way, the published blog entries will be selected from the blogs that YOU choose. One rule as it's a best of 2007 book - the entry does have to be from 2007! We have plans for a very obvious sequel next year... Sometime soon (March/April) we will be able to offer you the ability to turn your blog into a book for you, your friends and family and possibly the world. | For the competition - we will of course obtain permission from the nominated bloggers before including their work. We are looking for specific Blog entries so that this becomes a collection from several distinct authors. I will definitely buy it! It's a shame that Cumberlandsausage's last blog was in 2006. I've read many a top entry in 2007, but here are a few entries that are worthy of a book: | Prague/Krakow: Dreams, Dragons & Nazi Death Camps by michaelpaddo - he is one of my favourite bloggers (though I may be slightly biased since he is my best friend's brother). Although I think his best blog was in 2006 (the camel ride), for 2007 I propose this one. His part on Auschwitz is just what everyone wants to say but doesn't know how to. Suffocating in the Gore Tex® by lovelyplanet - vivid photos from a wild, otherworldy destination... complete with the criticism of high-cost, mass tourism that I love at Travelblog. WE FINALLY MADE IT!: Adventure's End - SINGAPORE ! by bikepacker - the end of Travelblog's most epic journey. The Dark side of the Fairytale by le_flow - an insight into how Africa's Shining Light does not really shine so bright (again I think his best blog is in 2006, but hey). Syria - The Pearl of the East... by Chi - great prose with top photos, a prime example of a normal travelblog entry. Diving Around Sipadan, Sibuan, Mabul and Kapali by Ali - what kind of Travelblog book would we have without an entry from the man that made it?! This is not a long blog, but that first shot with the turtle is one of my personal favourites on Travelblog.
