cliffAnn ANN CLIFFTON Post Count: 2 Msg: #1 257 days ago, December 25th 2007 | Hello everybody! I would like to write some lines to share with all of you a fantastic journey through Morocco we did, a friend and I, the last week of November and that was really exceptional. In the beginning, the idea was to arrive at Marrakech, rent a car and leave the Atlantic .... Essaouira, Agadir and as far as the body (aguantara) .... everything changed a few days before our departure , thanks to a daily I read about travel companions Madrid, I discovered a path completely opposite ..... towards the southeast, crossing the fantastic Atlas and get into the desert, in the province of Merzouga. These companions commented that they had traveled with a Moroccan driver/guide who had a 4x4. His name was Hamid and leave his email <snip>, we contacted him and discovered a guide, truly exceptional, he understood perfectly the type of trip we wanted to do and got us to devote to enjoy each second and focused on everything else. Well, it does, as 2 days before leaving, we change the initial idea, contacted Hamid, the Berber guide, and we went one trip embroidery ..... 1 st stage Marrakesh, "the crazy city." If you get to it, then impossible to get an idea of what is Marrakesh, worth seeying city. It's like living in a video game ... streets in the souks ... while going 3 donkeys, 15 motorcycles, 2 children with the shirt barça pushing a car ... it seems that every second is going to pass something, some outrage , and nothing happens ... all this combined with the smells of spices ... mint tea you would call constantly ... a suffocating heat ... and the fabulous square Djem- el Fna: from 8 in the afternoon begins to focus a huge amount of people around the spectacles of snake charmers, djembés, the dozens of posts meal… 2 nd stage Atlas. As had been Hamid picked us up at 9am from the hotel, we set up in the 4x4 and start the route through the fabulous and Todra gorges of the Valley of the Roses. Landscape of Mars ... blue sky, mountains and a continuous red oasis of palm trees along the course of the river .... every time a small village almost invisible (adobe houses are the same color red mountains). The people here are exceptional, at the edge of the road we invited him a stop and degustes with them some cous-cous or a little tea. Everyone is welcome. Hamid took us some clues for 4x4 away from everything unforgettable. 3 rd stage .... The desert. The heat is dry and more intense as you go adentrándote in Africa. The color changes .... the deep red of the mountains ... to yellow desert (including people already are yellow ... see Erfoud ).... up to the province of Merzouga, some 50 km away from the gatepath Erfoud to desert dunes. Not (desaprovechamos) the opportunity to spend a night there ... surrounded by dunes, stars, our camels and nothing else, really different brilliant colors of the desert as the time and position of the sun, there is nothing more relaxing to do leave the sun in the desert .... And they finished the days ... a pity .... but played back .... we returned to cross the Atlas, this time by the Draa Valley and we are again in Marrakech ... "loca city" . I recommend everyone to visit Morocco. For all the skeptics, I say that there is no country more secure around the world, delightful scenery and wonderful people. I look forward to repeat it. If you have a guess to make a similar journey, do not hesitate to contact him ; you know who !! Ohh yeh Hamid, winded up enjoying this wonderful country. | Anyway, this is a long debatable issue, but I preferred to introduced my opinion so as to enrich and clarify the special link to make a great tour to Morocco. I hope my comment will be taken into consideration, and I am ready to give more arguments if needed for more help.
