For us travelling types Travelblog is very much our office. It's where we submit our travel reports and spend much more time than we'd really like to. With this in mind I was wondering if any of my colleagues (that means you) who may be in the Auckland (NZ) area over the festive period would consider joining us for an office Christmas party? (ie. does anyone fancy meeting for a drink sometime in December).

Reply to this Brilliant idea. It must be "in the stars" because I was working in my garden this morning and had the same idea. The only difference is - I am in Australia.
If anyone will be in the Sydney region during December, lets arrange a Xmas party for all the Travelblog people.
I would be happy to organise it if enough people were interested.

Reply to this Ok - so the travelblog Christmas parties - post in this thread to volunteer to organise a party - all it needs is a time and a place - near Christmas. I'll put this on the front page and on the log in page so nearly everyone will see it.
If it's only a few attendees - then it will be easy to organise; just a bar, or table at a restaurant - if it gets popular it will need more organising.
Anyone living in London? - that could be a big/complex one!

Reply to this I'm in a small village near the town of Leamington Spa in the UK at the moment. It's only a short train ride to London from here. It would be nice to meet up with some travelbloggers before I return to Africa in January. I've only been back in Blighty since July but I've told the debt collection agency where I'm working that I will be leaving at the end of December.

So if you are after a quieter Christmas, let us know. We are open to sharing Christmas lunch and/or dinner with any travellers / bloggers in the area, and whatever we do on New Years Eve (our own newly built deck and fireplace is looking good!!) Or we can meet up somewhere around Christmas / New Year.

Reply to this I've had my first (couple of packets of) mince pies of the year and I've bought some trousers several sizes too large in preperation for the inevitable gain over the next month or so. The festive season is building just nicely.
Anyway...
Saturday 22nd of December is the day we've earmarked for a little Auckland Travelblog soiree, though the venue is yet to be identified. If you are in or around Auckland on that date feel free to join us.
