| Hitting the road between Chicago, the East Coast and back: any suggestions? | |||||||||||||||||||||

Cheers Mark  ilchicag Liz Post Count: 46 Msg: #2 312 days ago, November 1st 2007 | I-80 is pretty standard to get from Boston to Chicago; however, when I was coming back from Maine to Champaign, Illinois, I drove through the Adirondack Mountains and WOW. I know NYC is huge and you have to visit... but if you can get to the Catskills or the Adirondacks in NY state, you won't regret it. Look up a few websites about scenic routes in New England and enjoy the fall in the east (below is a link about NY scenic routes). A couple of things that I would suggest for adults, though, are: | 1. Check out the Harley Davidson factory tour in York (don't forget closed shoes!), 2. The Corning Glass Museum is also beautiful, and well worth a visit. For other places of interest in the area, I use a road trip planner called Tripcart . You can use it to find places of interest, attractions, "nearby hotels", and lots of very useful information about each region of the US.
