Experience with Global Crossroad

Hello, my wife and I are taking a world trip starting in Feb. and would love to do some volunteer work. My wife came across a site for a group called Global Crossroad that sets up volunteer and TESL courses and I was wondering if anyone has any experience with them.

I\'m worried about getting ripped off (I saw another thread on one of these forums of a woman who was ripped off from some company). Also, it seems expensive to pay $1000 to volunteer somewhere, and it seems weird to me to have to pay to teach ESL whereas most places pay you!

Ao, any information anyone has or any other volunteer groups you can recommend would be aprreciated.

Hi Mike-

I was wondering if you ended up going on your trip through Global Crossroad. I'm am undergraduate student possibly doing an internship through Tanzania with them. If you have any information regarding your experiences with them I would greatly appreciate hearing it.
