Trouble is, I don't really feel comfortable forfeiting my passport/other ID to rent a bike... just in case something should happen. Either way, I'm toying with the idea of simply buying a bike when I'm in Rome. Does anyone know how much that would cost, where I can buy one, and if it's even a good idea?
