Pecs and Sopron

Looking for advice from anyone who has travelled to both

I'm going to be travelling through Hungary in early November, and I'm hoping there is someone out there who has been to Pecs and Sopron. I'd like to go to both, I'm just not sure which one to allow more time for (I have only a day or two for each one). I'm a hobby photographer, and when I'm travelling I like to be outside exploring the streets as much as possible (weather permitting).

Any thoughts?

I lived in Pecs for a while back in 2004 - never visited Sopron. Here is a link to my Jeber Pecs Gallery

Pecs is a beautiful city, least in the historic parts, it has it's fair share of soviet era tower blocks out away from the centre. To the north of Pecs is a vast forested area - the Mecsek Hills (missing lots of accents). It can be a bit dreary in November though. I'll add more thoughts when I get them :)

I recommend you to allow more time for Pecs not just because she is bigger also because there are more things to see and to do than in Sopron (great photos at gallery submitted by Ali). I used to live in Pécs too and also have been to Sopron several times. I recommend you to spend one or a half day in Sopron and travel by bus/train to Pécs for two more days.
The only problem is 'November' because the day is quiet short at this time of the year...

I had one day in Sopron, which was quite nice and everything, but there's not much life there. Pécs is better for young people, I have spent there some three days and it is a real party town with lots of students. I have stayed in a hotel right at the main square. This is it: <a href="http://hungary.budapesthotelservice.com/Hotel_Palatinus_Pecs/hotelinfo.php">Hotel Palatinus</a>.

I could just walk out and enjoy the city, and of course the nightlife. Of course I had some friends there to spend the time with, alone it would not have been so funny.

I have been to both Pecs and Sopron. Both are lovely, personally liked Pecs more. Great shopping and dining, awesome for sightseeing.

I used to work in Osijek, HR. Pecs is on the train line that runs through Osijek to Tuzla and Sarajevo in Bosnia. Pecs has great cafes and art galleries.
