Hey peoples!
im an artist, 23 from melbourne, australia. Travelling alone. Currently in Europe and im about about to head to South America for 3months.
Im travelling to Colombia on 26th of July (for about three weeks) and have some very very basic spanish on board. Im a little bit unsure of what im heading into and if its currently safe. So would really appreciate any good tips and a basic safety update; thanks!

Destinations im planning include:
Bogota and around then flying to Cartagena. Barranquilla, Santa Marta, Tanganga, Tayrona park and perhaps Cali.

Would also love to hear from any fellow travellers or locals! in colombia at that time...

I was there one month ago for 6 weeks. I would suggest that all the places you have suggested are pretty safeas long as you are sensible, and I personally found that other then the constant offers from drug dealers and prostitutes it is pretty safe. I would definatley recommend that you go to Medellin tho! The best city in Colombia by my reckoning, and there are some great hostels there that are kiwi run (New Zealanders and Australians tend to get along). Cali isn't special, and the Ciudad Perdida trek is a must!
Good Luck Bro,
Cassels
